Determining the change in the bathymetry of Saldanha Bay due to the harbour construction in the seventies

Bathymetry is the science to study and measure depths of ocean floor. The differences in water depth, underwater slope floor structure were investigated using a geographic information system (GIS). This article investigates changes hydrodynamic sedimentation processes Saldanha Bay as result harbour constructions that took place early 1970s. construction included massive dredging operations resultant relocation 30 million m3 soil. Bathymetric data from before (1957) after (1977) seventies analysed compared ArcGIS.
